Graduate Students

Being a graduate student in a newly established and rapidly growing lab will provide you with many unique opportunities

  • You will be given independence to develop and grow your research project. We will ensure you have a thesis that will be productive, impactful and can be completed in a timely manner.

  • As a grad student you will be trained by Bushra directly and will benefit from daily contact and weekly meetings. This provides a unique opportunity to work side-by-side with your PI, and not struggle on your own or get lost in a big lab. Together, we will develop a training and productivity plan to ensure you’re on track during grad school.

  • Our lab is nestled with 4 other established zebrafish labs that employ diverse research techniques. There is no shortage of people to ask questions, request to borrow reagents or share equipment with! We also have monthly zebrafish group meetings where you can learn what your neighbors are doing.

  • As early members of our team you will influence the lab culture and social scene. We are looking for individuals that want to create a supportive and fun workspace for all, and are excited to organize and participate in lab outings and retreats!
